Curious about DUC-Alberta’s Revolving Land Program?
Here’s how it works:

  • We purchase land.
  • We restore the property’s wetlands and grasslands.
  • We place a *conservation easement on the land title

Then the land becomes available for purchase and is put back in the hands of the agricultural community. Proceeds from land sales are used to fund other conservation projects in the area.

*Have you considered placing a conservation easement (CE) on your land?

Our CEs enable landowners to be compensated for their good stewardship while retaining the right to manage the land and generate revenue from haying and grazing. These agreements are a perfect instrument to balance interests in working the land with protecting the natural and cultural features that are important to the landowner and future generations.
